What you get

Built for spontaneous plans

Open the app, look around you, go. No feed to scroll, no ticketing account, no newsletter.

Map first

Every event is a pin. Pan across Tokyo, zoom into your neighbourhood, or check what's on in a city you're about to visit.

Filters that make sense

What, when, where. Tap a category chip, jump to “today” or “this weekend”, or search by name — then keep browsing.

Nearby alerts

Walk past a festival without knowing it? Not anymore. Eventory can nudge you when something you like is happening close by.

Save & plan

Bookmark events to your own lists, add them to your phone calendar, and share them with whoever you're dragging along.

Straight to the source

Every listing links to the organiser's page and the venue on the map, so you can double-check times and access yourself.

Spotted a flyer? Snap it

Found a poster for something we're missing? Photograph it in the app and send it in — that's how local listings get better.

Nearby notifications

Just walk. We'll tap you on the shoulder.

Set your interests once — matsuri, farmers' markets, art exhibitions — and Eventory watches the map for you while you go about your day.

  • Works in the background — no need to open the app.
  • Choose the categories and the distance that suit you.
  • Location and notifications are both optional, and can be turned off at any time in your phone settings.

Local coverage

The small matsuri, not just the famous ones

Big festivals are easy to find. The neighbourhood shrine festival two stations away, the summer fireworks in the next town, the flea market in a temple courtyard — those are the ones Eventory is really for.

FAQ

Good to know

Is Eventory free?

Yes. Browsing events is free and no account is required. Signing in is only needed for features like sending feedback or reporting an event.

Which areas of Japan are covered?

Japan, nationwide. Coverage is naturally densest around the big cities — Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo — and it keeps growing. Other countries may come later, but there's no timeline yet.

How often is event data updated?

Events are collected continuously and a new snapshot is published hourly. The app downloads that snapshot so the map stays fast.

How reliable is the information?

Event details come from the organiser's or host's pages and from search engine summaries, so accuracy depends on the source. Always verify dates, times and venues with the organiser before travelling — every listing links straight to them. If something looks wrong, the Report button in the app tells us to check it.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Location is optional. It is used to centre the map on you and, if you enable nearby notifications, to spot events happening close by. You can refuse it and still use everything else.

Is the app in Japanese?

Yes — Eventory works in English and Japanese, and follows your phone's language.

Can I add an event?

If you spot a poster for something that isn't listed, take a photo of it in the app (or paste a link to the flyer) and send it over. We'll take it from there.

How do I get in touch?

Use the Feedback button in the About section of the app — it reaches us directly, and it's the fastest way to report a bug or ask for a feature.

Find out what's happening now

Eventory Japan is free on iPhone and Android. We're a small, new app — if something's missing or wrong, tell us from inside the app and we'll fix it.
